How long would you recommend spending on a battlefield tour?

Experience shows the optimum amount of time for a tour that maintains the interest of clients is approximately 5 days. This can be varied to meet the needs of the group or the individual.

Can I combine First and Second World War campaigns into a single tour?

This is possible but not recommended as the travelling time between the operational areas is significant. In addition to get the most value from a tour, maintaining a chronological sequence is normally important.

We are a military group with specific requirements. Can you accommodate our needs?

Our guide has a breadth of military experience and will aim to accommodate your specific needs whether they be focused on education, Regimental history or remembrance.

Our group has varying levels of interest in military history. Is this a problem?

We aim to build our itineraries with you beforehand to suit the needs of your group. Military history is the main component of the tour, but the programme will always include opportunities to enjoy the cultural attractions of the specific regions of Italy. We also offer the opportunity to combine war and wine with our wine expert.

Why do you not provide fixed itineraries?

We use our knowledge of the First and Second World War campaigns in Italy to provide a personal tour that meets the requirements of each group, family or individual. We believe this results in a more satisfactory experience for the client and for the guide.

Will I be able to understand the wider strategical importance of the campaign?

We believe it important to provide the political context in which military commanders were operating at the time and to help clients understand the reasoning behind the decisions that were made. Equally it is important to appreciate the consequences of their actions with a consideration of the tactical battles.

Our family member took part in the Italian campaign. Can we retrace his footsteps?

Researching an individual’s part in either the First or Second World War campaign is always particularly rewarding. Inevitably this can take additional effort but always adds important personal stories to the wider descriptions of the battles.

Why do you not provide a pricing structure?

The personal service we seek to provide allows groups, families and individuals to have specific requirements with regard to itineraries, travel arrangements and standards of accommodation. Arrangements can be made to suit the majority of budgets.
